Why people pick it

  • Logs energy use over time in the app, not just a live reading
  • Schedules and remote control, with Alexa and Google Home
  • Feeds appliance-level data into an Emporia Vue
  • ETL certified

Know before you buy

  • No display: readings are in the Emporia app over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi
  • 10 A continuous limit (15 A peak for an hour a day) rules out large heaters, and Emporia recommends not using it on power-sensitive equipment such as refrigerators or freezers, medical or pet equipment, or routers
  • Emporia publishes no metering accuracy for the plug
  • Emporia recalled 120 V plugs bought from Amazon or its own shop between July 1, 2022 and August 1, 2023, because the ground may not connect (free replacement or refund); plugs bought outside those dates aren't affected
