Sources: FLIR requirements and App Store listing. Android also needs GPS, Location, OTG USB and Microphone capabilities, and Location, Microphone and Nearby Devices permissions; Edge needs Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. A 64-bit processor can run a 32-bit environment: check arm64-v8a, then try installing FLIR ONE before buying. Installation alone does not establish camera connectivity.

FLIR advisory specifically names Galaxy S9/S9+ versions from the USA, LATAM and China. Check your exact regional phone's manufacturer specifications.
FLIR suggests Edge/Edge Pro or another phone for affected devices. Wireless still needs app compatibility: its Huawei advisory cannot guarantee compatibility with EMUI/HarmonyOS devices.
Check the app first
Confirm the current OS and device requirements on the actual phone or tablet.
Choose your connection
Share between supported platforms or move the camera separately: Edge. Attach directly: ONE in the correct OS/connector version.
Check Android exclusions
Compare the exact regional phone chipset with FLIR's advisory; wireless also has phone restrictions.
Match the part number
Use the model table below before ordering a camera or bundle.
Best for sharing and awkward angles: FLIR Edge Pro
Edge Pro is our default family pick because you can position the camera separately from the screen and share it between supported platforms. FLIR documents up to 5 m remote operation: Bluetooth establishes the camera's peer-to-peer Wi-Fi network; USB-C is its charging connection. Edge Series datasheet.
Its 160 × 120 native detector and additional 0 to 400°C object range make it our preference over Edge for recurring inspections.
Best direct attachment: FLIR ONE Pro
ONE Pro has three measurement spots and hottest/coldest tracking, and a 15 cm fixed-focus minimum versus 30 cm on Edge models; MSX alignment distance is separate. ONE Pro specifications.
The Android USB-C and iOS USB-C units have different part numbers. FLIR's Pro page labels the iOS USB-C video interface “Micro-USB,” while its specific datasheet says male USB-C. Confirm the ordered part number if descriptions conflict.
Choose the ONE Pro version at FLIR.
Best for simple attached checks: FLIR ONE / Gen 3
ONE is the current name for Gen 3. Its 80 × 60 native detector, −20 to 120°C object range and one centered spot meter suit overview checks when you accept less detail. The adjustable OneFit connector extends up to 4 mm, which helps with cases but does not establish compatibility with every case. ONE datasheet.
Choose Pro for native detail, Edge for wireless positioning.
Choose the ONE / Gen 3 version at FLIR.
Simpler wireless option: FLIR Edge
Choose Edge when wireless placement matters and its 80 × 60 native detector and −20 to 120°C object range suffice. Edge specifications.
Processing specifications conflict: the product page's VividIR row and the older model datasheet (11001-0101) say No; the series PDF says Yes. Confirm that feature with FLIR; our pick rests on native resolution and wireless operation.

Sources: current ONE, ONE Pro, Edge and Edge Pro pages. All list 8.7 Hz image frequency. An older Edge model sheet also lists 1 hour 30 minutes in its battery table, conflicting with the current runtime; treat battery figures as manufacturer estimates.
MSX adds visible-camera edges; VividIR combines image frames. Neither turns the listed enhanced output or the attached models' 1440 × 1080 saved-image dimensions into native detector resolution. Those dimensions are separately identified in FLIR's product specifications. Sensitivity describes small thermal differences; the separate accuracy limits below govern temperature readings.

Wireless Edge is 11001-0101; Edge Pro is 11002-0201. Check regional availability and bundles.
FLIR lists camera, USB-C cable and printed documentation for Edge; attached ONE models add a pouch. Edge's pouch is separate. A phone and wall supply are not listed: budget for those. Box contents.

- No: A charging cable does not convert an Android camera into an iOS camera
- No: A pouch pictured beside Edge does not establish that it is included
Already own a Lightning camera and changed to a USB-C iPhone? FLIR reports some success with Apple's USB-C-to-Lightning adapter but explicitly says that use is not guaranteed or supported. For a new purchase, choose native iOS USB-C or Edge. FLIR adapter caveat.
Winter inspection: target range is not outdoor operating range
The −20°C target range does not mean an attached ONE can operate in freezing air. ONE and ONE Pro list 0 to 35°C operation and 0 to 30°C charging; Edge models list −10 to 50°C operation and 0 to 45°C charging. Attached specifications, Edge specifications. Edge's manual instead limits charging to 0–35°C, or 10–35°C for Korea: follow the supplied regional manual.
The current family reference states ±3°C or ±5% accuracy, applicable 60 seconds after startup, with the camera at 15 to 35°C and the scene at 5 to 120°C. Attached-camera sheets describe the percentage as the difference between ambient and scene temperature. Do not extend those conditions to the entire target range, or assume that operating within the outdoor limit guarantees that accuracy. Family accuracy conditions, ONE Pro accuracy wording.
For insulation investigation, FLIR recommends at least 10°C / 18°F indoors-to-outdoors difference and warns that studs, pipes and columns can resemble defects. Its imaging guidance says to avoid direct sunlight on inspected details. Building examples, imaging guidance.
For a useful record, save the thermal image and visible context, location, time, indoor/outdoor and camera temperatures, weather/sun exposure, distance, emissivity setting and temperature scale. This is our documentation checklist, not a claim that the camera logs all those fields automatically.
Thermal cameras measure surface temperature, and reflective metals complicate readings. FLIR recommends other methods to confirm moisture. ONE manual, moisture guidance. Stay away from live components; leave panel work to a licensed electrician.
How we choose
We compared official specifications, manuals, compatibility/chipset advisories and app requirements. Picks reflect documented fit to the job, without physical testing. Amazon identifiers await owner confirmation. Read How we choose and How we measure.

Verdict
Choose Edge Pro for wireless positioning and sharing, ONE Pro for direct attachment and native detail, ONE / Gen 3 for simpler attached checks, and Edge for the simpler wireless detector. Confirm the app, phone, chipset and exact part number before buying: the right connector is only part of compatibility.
Frequently asked questions
Will an Android USB-C FLIR ONE work with an iPhone?
Choose the iOS USB-C version instead. FLIR lists separate Android and iOS USB-C part numbers for both ONE and ONE Pro; the shared connector shape does not establish compatibility. For sharing one camera between supported Android and Apple devices, choose the wireless Edge or Edge Pro and check the current app requirements on each device.
Does FLIR ONE need Wi-Fi or Bluetooth?
Edge and Edge Pro stream images over a camera-created Wi-Fi connection, with Bluetooth used to establish that connection. Their USB-C socket charges the camera. Attached ONE and ONE Pro models connect through the phone's physical port and also have their own rechargeable batteries. All require the FLIR ONE app on a compatible mobile device.
Is FLIR ONE Pro LT the same as FLIR ONE Pro?
No. FLIR now lists Pro LT among its legacy models. Its Pro-Series datasheet specifies an 80 × 60 thermal detector and a maximum object temperature of 120°C for Pro LT, compared with 160 × 120 and an additional range reaching 400°C for Pro. Check the complete model name when comparing older stock.
Can I buy an old FLIR ONE Gen 1 and install the current app?
Avoid that purchase for a current phone. FLIR says Gen 1 is incompatible with the current FLIR ONE app. Its remaining example depends on an old phone retaining an already installed older app, which Apple has removed from its stores. An old camera's connector fitting your phone does not solve that software limitation.
Can FLIR ONE confirm a water leak or see inside a wall?
It measures surface temperature. FLIR explains that moisture can change a material's thermal behavior, but recommends other methods to confirm moisture or water damage. Studs, pipes and columns can resemble insulation defects. Use the image to choose where to investigate further; it does not establish the hidden cause of a pattern.
