The specifications below come from the linked maker pages and manuals. For a wider shortlist, see our best multimeters; this page focuses on the Bosch purchase and the functions that might redirect it.
Best Bosch starting package: US GDM600-15
Bosch's US product page documents a package containing the meter, tool pouch, MS90 test leads and two AA batteries. It lists flexible silicone leads, an integrated kickstand, a high-contrast LCD and rubber-reinforced housing rated for 6 ft drops. A magnetic hanger is sold separately: buy the standard package first unless hanging the meter is part of your routine.
The linked US GDM600-15 manual specifies 600 V AC/DC, 10 A AC/DC, 40 MΩ resistance and 1,000 µF capacitance. Frequency extends to 50 kHz from AC voltage or 2 kHz from AC current, subject to the manual's input conditions. It also provides continuity, automatic/manual ranging and Min/Max/Average readings.
- 600 V AC/DCBosch's voltage ceiling; meter rated CAT III 600 V
- 10 A AC/DCMaximum current; time limit applies
- 1,000 µFMaximum capacitance in the US manual
The current ceiling is not continuous: Bosch limits a maximum-current measurement to 10 seconds, followed by 15 minutes between maximum-current measurements. Its smallest current range is 6.000 A, resolving 0.001 A (1 mA). Those details matter more than the maximum when choosing a meter for small-current work.
For DC voltage, Bosch specifies ±(0.5% of reading + 2 counts). The accuracy table's reference conditions are 18–28°C and ≤75% relative humidity, with an additional temperature error outside that band. This is a manufacturer specification, not a result from thisMETER.

US GDM600-15 versus regional GDM 600-15 listings
The space in the name is a poor package identifier. Bosch's US URL identifies 0601077310, while its spare-parts section and US manual identify the tool as 3601K77310. Keep those identifiers distinct when ordering the meter versus requesting service parts.
Bosch's UK GDM 600-15 page documents different regional packages:
- 0 601 077 300: pouch, MS 90 leads and two AA batteries.
- 0 601 077 301: those contents plus the MH 1 magnetic hanger.
That UK page identifies the leads as 1 600 A03 8D2 and hanger as 1 600 A03 8CY. The US manual instead lists 1600A03TC8 test leads and 1600A03TC9 magnetic hanger. Do not assume matching accessory names establish interchangeable regional order numbers; use the US manual and Bosch's confirmation for replacements.
A maker wording mismatch: the US retail page explicitly includes AA batteries, but the manual's AA-power paragraph calls them sold separately. We use the US product page for the advertised package contents and the manual for operating limits. Have the seller confirm the contents of the actual box.
Optional rechargeable power: Bosch GBA37V10
Buy this accessory only if recharging fits your routine. The meter works on two 1.5 V LR6 AA alkaline batteries, or the manual's named BA 3.7V 1.0Ah A (GBA37V10) lithium-ion pack. Its compatibility instruction permits only the packs listed in its technical data; an existing Bosch power-tool battery collection does not establish a compatible supply.
Bosch's GBA37V10 page describes it as formerly GLM-BAT and includes one battery and a USB-A-to-USB-C cable. A wall adapter is not in that contents list. The meter manual specifies a 5 V DC, 500 mA USB supply and recommends cables 2610067499 or 6082942Z0Z; check the supplied cable against those requirements.
Remove the pack to charge it. The USB-C socket is on the battery, and the GDM600-15 manual requires taking the pack out of the meter for charging. The battery product page's permission to charge while installed specifically describes a laser, so it is not a pass-through-power claim for this meter. Keep the AA cover inlay for switching back to alkaline power; the manual requires that inlay for AA operation.
The meter manual permits charging at 10–35°C. The older battery manual linked by Bosch gives a wider above 0°C and below 45°C window; use the narrower meter-specific window for this combination. Bosch's battery page also shows service part 1608M00C44, whereas the meter manual lists pack article 1607A350N9. Confirm the named compatible pack with Bosch if an order is identified only by one of these numbers.

Sources: Bosch US manual, Klein product page and MM420 manual, and Fluke 117 specifications and manual. “Not listed” means the model's own documented functions; sibling models and comparison-chart columns are excluded.
- Yes: Bosch covers voltage, continuity, resistance, capacitance and AC frequency
- No: No dedicated µA/mA ranges, temperature, diode test or duty cycle listed for Bosch
- Partly: Bosch suits the job only when its ranges and CAT rating meet that job
Alternative for microamps and temperature: Klein MM420
Choose the MM420 if the Bosch function list misses your actual work. Klein documents a 400 µA DC range with 0.1 µA resolution, plus temperature, diode testing and duty cycle. It includes test leads with category shields, a thermocouple and batteries. The supplied thermocouple is suitable only below 180°C, separately from the meter's wider temperature range.

Klein Tools
A 4,000-count auto-ranging True RMS multimeter rated CAT III 600V that measures up to 600 V and 10 A, plus temperature, capacitance, frequency and duty cycle.
Check package and model options
- 600 V max
- 10 A max
- 4,000 counts
- CAT III 600V
For that requirement, dedicated functions are a stronger reason to choose Klein than the Bosch rechargeable option. Our Fluke vs Klein multimeter guide compares the alternative packages in more detail.
Alternative for ghost voltages: Fluke 117
Choose the 117 for its low-impedance voltage mode, which Fluke says reduces ghost-voltage readings, plus AutoVolt automatic AC/DC selection and VoltAlert non-contact detection. Its standard package includes silicone test leads and a holster.

Fluke
A compact 6,000-count True RMS multimeter for electricians, rated CAT III 600V, with built-in VoltAlert non-contact voltage detection, automatic AC/DC selection and a low-impedance mode.
Check package and model options
- 600 V max
- 10 A max
- 6,000 counts
- CAT III 600V
It does not solve the small-current limitation: the specified 6.000 A range also resolves 1 mA, and its own function list has no temperature measurement. Buy it for its electrical-troubleshooting aids when those are the deciding features.
Buying guide: leads, fuse, pouch and checkout
Keep the lead shields. Bosch rates the supplied leads CAT III 1000 V / CAT IV 600 V, 10 A with shields, and CAT II 1000 V, 10 A without them. The meter remains CAT III 600 V. Higher-rated leads do not upgrade the instrument; follow the manual's shield requirements and use only the specified accessories.
Match the whole fuse specification. The US manual calls for a fast-acting 10 A, 600 V fuse, 10 kA switching capacity, measuring 6.3 × 32 mm. A matching current number alone is insufficient. Follow Bosch's replacement instructions rather than substituting a generic fuse.
The included storage is a pouch. Bosch does not list a hard case or spare fuse in the standard US contents. Check those separately if they matter for a gift or a work kit; the magnetic hanger is also optional.
Match the identity
Confirm the US meter identifier and its matching manual.
Match the job
Check small-current detail, missing functions and the required CAT rating.
Match the contents
Confirm leads, shields, pouch and power; add the rechargeable pack or hanger only when wanted.
Repeat that package check during a holiday sale: a bundle title is not a contents list. For measurement basics, read how to use a multimeter.
How we choose
We researched official Bosch US and UK pages, the linked US meter and battery manuals, and the Klein and Fluke documentation. Recommendations follow documented ranges, operating limits and package contents; thisMETER publishes no original readings here. Unresolved regional accessory identifiers remain explicit, and Bosch purchase links go to the maker while Amazon identifiers await owner confirmation.
Verdict
Start with the US GDM600-15 AA package when its documented functions cover your work. Add GBA37V10 for rechargeable power, allowing for removal during charging. Choose MM420 for microamps and temperature, or Fluke 117 for LoZ and non-contact detection; buy those functions before adding accessories to the Bosch.
Our picks at a glance
- 1

Choose for: Small-current work, temperature or diode testing
Check before buying: Rated CAT III 600V: not for service-entrance (CAT IV) work
- 2

Choose for: Electrical troubleshooting with True RMS and a low-impedance mode for ghost voltage.
Limit: CAT III 600 V, not CAT IV; no mA/µA current ranges (the 6 A range resolves 1 mA).
Frequently asked questions
Which Bosch multimeter package should I buy in the US?
Start with the GDM600-15 on Bosch's US page, order 0601077310. The documented package includes the meter, a tool pouch, MS90 test leads and two AA batteries. The GBA37V10 rechargeable battery and magnetic hanger are separate purchases. Check the actual package contents before ordering, especially when a listing uses the spaced regional name GDM 600-15.
Does the Bosch GDM600-15 need a rechargeable battery?
No. Bosch's US package includes two AA batteries, and its manual specifies alkaline LR6 cells as one power option. The separately sold GBA37V10 is a 3.7 V, 1.0 Ah lithium-ion alternative. Choose it for a rechargeable routine, rather than treating it as a required accessory. The meter manual requires removing the pack for charging.
Can I charge the GDM600-15 through USB-C while using it?
The meter manual requires removing the lithium-ion pack from the tool to charge it through the pack's USB-C port. It specifies a 5 V DC, 500 mA supply and recommended cables. Bosch's battery page describes charging while installed in a laser measure; that statement does not establish permission to charge this multimeter while using it.
Does the Bosch GDM600-15 measure microamps, temperature or diodes?
The US manual lists voltage, current, resistance, capacitance, AC frequency and continuity. Its smallest current range is 6.000 A with 0.001 A resolution; it lists no dedicated microamp or milliamp range, temperature, diode test or duty cycle. Choose the Klein MM420 when those functions are required, checking the supplied thermocouple's separate temperature limit.
Is the Bosch GDM600-15 waterproof or rated CAT IV?
Bosch specifies IP65 and CAT III 600 V for the meter, and the manual restricts it to indoor use. The supplied leads have higher category ratings with their shields fitted, but those ratings do not increase the meter's rating. The manual also prohibits use when the tool surface or your hands are wet. Follow the complete instrument and accessory instructions.
