Buy the standard Fluke 117 unless your workplace requires a specific calibration report or you also need an AC clamp meter. Choose 117 CAL, part 5160508, for Fluke's documented certificate with data, or 117/323 Kit, part 4296041, for the additional clamp; existing 117 owners should consider the 323 alone. For Fluke Black Friday shopping, settle the package before comparing checkout totals.

Default choice: standard Fluke 117

Fluke
A compact 6,000-count True RMS multimeter for electricians, rated CAT III 600V, with built-in VoltAlert non-contact voltage detection, automatic AC/DC selection and a low-impedance mode.
Check package and model options
- 600 V max
- 10 A max
- 6,000 counts
- CAT III 600V
Choose part 2538815 when you want the 117's electrical troubleshooting functions and have no requirement for a particular calibration certificate. Fluke specifies True RMS, VoltAlert non-contact detection, automatic AC/DC voltage selection and selectable low impedance to reduce ghost-voltage readings. Its own specifications give 6,000 counts, CAT III 600V, and 10 A AC/DC through the leads.
The standard package already lists silicone leads and a holster. A listing described as a meter alone therefore needs a contents check before you assume it lacks leads. Buy an extra case, clips or hanger only if you need them and they are absent from the actual package.
CAL does not buy a different measurement range. Fluke's Models section describes the CAL version as the 117 with a certificate, without publishing a tighter CAL specification. Our default recommendation is the standard package when that paperwork has no use for you.
For required paperwork: Fluke 117 CAL
The confirmed manufacturer package is Fluke 117 CAL, part 5160508. Fluke explicitly lists the 117, silicone leads, holster and manual plus a traceable certificate of calibration with data from Fluke. Use that manufacturer part when requesting a quote; a different seller suffix needs its own written service description.

What the calibration document does—and does not—establish
Fluke's calibration documentation explanation says most tools receive a Statement of Calibration Practices describing manufacturing calibration and traceability. That statement does not identify your particular serial number, date or model, and is not a formal calibration certificate. Missing CAL in the package name therefore does not mean uncalibrated.
The additional CAL report is useful when your organization requires instrument-specific evidence. However, traceable, with data and accredited describe different requirements. Fluke's service levels include non-accredited calibration with data as well as accredited calibration to ISO/IEC 17025:2017. The 117 CAL listing promises traceability and data; it does not state that accreditation level or enumerate the report's test points and uncertainty figures.
Before ordering, request a sample report and confirm:
- Identity: the delivered report must match the meter's model and serial number.
- Timing: review the calibration date and have your workplace set the acceptable recalibration interval.
- Coverage: check the functions, ranges and results your procedure requires; request uncertainty and accreditation scope if mandatory.
- Issuer: distinguish the promised Fluke report from any independently supplied service.
These are acceptance checks, not additional contents promised for part 5160508. Fluke's certificate guide explains identity, dates, results and uncertainty, and says calibration frequency depends on use and requirements. NIST's traceability policy also cautions that traceability alone does not guarantee suitability for the intended measurement.
If CAL is unavailable: specify the service separately
Fluke also documents ordering a new instrument by its model plus a calibration-service item number. Its service page lists 2132558 for traceable with data, 1259800 for traceable without data, and 1256480 for Z540 with data. These identify services, not alternative 117 meter models or a promise of current stock. Ask Fluke or its distributor to confirm the service for your order; a certificate without data does not match the documented 117 CAL contents.
For both instruments: Fluke 117/323 combo kit
Choose 117/323 Kit, part 4296041, when you need the 117 and a separate AC-current clamp. Fluke's kit overview names 117, 323, TL175 test leads, TPAK ToolPak magnetic hanger and a soft carrying case.
The same page's What's in the box section instead lists the 117 with 4 mm silicone leads and holster, and the 323 with test leads and soft case. It does not name the TL175 or TPAK there. Neither contents list names a calibration certificate with data for either instrument. Confirm the supplied lead model, hanger, cases and documentation before valuing those extras.

When the 323 adds a capability you need
Fluke specifies 400 A AC through the 323's clamp and 600 V AC/DC through its leads. Its specification table lists no DC-current range or contact-temperature function. The 117 already measures AC/DC current through leads, but that does not provide the 323's clamp capability. Our clamp meter vs multimeter guide explains which tool fits the measurement.
- Yes: 323 jaw: AC current up to 400 A
- Yes: 323 leads: AC and DC voltage up to 600 V
- No: 323: no DC-current range
- No: 323: no contact-temperature function
Keep each instrument's safety marking separate: 117 is CAT III 600V; 323 is CAT III 600V / CAT IV 300V, according to their linked specifications. The clamp's marking does not upgrade the 117. Match category and voltage to the location using Fluke's safety guidance, follow the instrument and accessory manuals, and leave panel work to a licensed electrician.
Already own a 117? Add the 323 separately

Fluke
A basic True RMS clamp meter rated CAT III 600V and CAT IV 300V that measures AC current to 400 A, AC and DC voltage to 600 V, resistance and continuity; it doesn't measure DC current.
Check package and model options
- 600 V max
- 400 A max
- CAT III 600V, CAT IV 300V
The standalone 323, part 5065521, supplies the same AC-clamp capability described above without another 117. Its official package lists test leads, a soft case and user documentation. This is our add-on pick when those capabilities meet the job; compare your existing clamp's functions before buying a duplicate.
If your workplace requires documentation for the clamp too, Fluke separately identifies 323 CAL, part 5160572, with a traceable certificate and data from Fluke. A report for the 117 does not document a different instrument. Confirm the requirement for each serial number rather than assuming a combo-kit invoice covers calibration.
Buying guide: compare the complete usable package
Use this comparison, with the same required tools and accepted paperwork on each side:
Complete-package total = checkout total + missing required accessories + required calibration service + delivery charges not already included.
Usable kit difference = complete combo-kit total − complete separate-purchase total. A negative difference favors the kit on cost, provided both sides meet the same requirements. This is a calculation method, not a claim of savings.
For the separate-purchase side, compare a standard 117 plus standalone 323, then add only accessories you actually need. For the kit side, resolve the lead/hanger discrepancy and add any required calibration service. If you need neither clamp nor paperwork, the standard 117 alone is the relevant comparison; unused extras deserve no value in your decision.
Write the requirement
List the instruments, accessories and accepted calibration documents you actually need.
Resolve the manifest

Black Friday November 27 and Cyber Monday November 30
Use November 27, 2026, and November 30, 2026, as package-check deadlines. The dates identify Black Friday and Cyber Monday; neither establishes a Fluke discount. No dated promotion or Amazon stock is verified here.
At checkout, save the exact model and manufacturer part, seller identity, condition, accessory manifest, calibration description, delivered total, return terms and offer expiry. Confirm the seller's authorization with Fluke if uncertain. Record when you checked; on Cyber Monday, reopen the same package and verify its terms again before carrying forward a Black Friday comparison.
Check condition explicitly: Fluke lists R-FLUKE-117, part 4373474, as factory reconditioned to original specifications. Keep that separate from a new standard or CAL order. For broader seasonal shopping, our Klein and Fluke package checklist covers neighboring purchase decisions.
Buying a gift
Check whether the recipient already owns a 117, an AC clamp, suitable leads, a hanger and a case. For workplace tools, obtain the required certificate type before choosing CAL; otherwise the recipient may still need a different service. Keep the invoice and gift-return terms. Our gifts for electricians guide helps narrow the missing tool; our multimeter shortlist is the next stop if the 117's functions do not fit.
How we choose
We compared official US model listings, accessory manifests, manufacturer specifications, calibration-service descriptions and NIST's traceability policy, checked November 2, 2026. These are document-based recommendations; we have not physically evaluated these packages. Conflicting accessory lists and unspecified certificate details remain explicit. Our selection method explains the approach.
Verdict
Choose the standard 117 when the meter and included accessories meet your needs. Choose 117 CAL 5160508 when its report meets your workplace's requirement, or 117/323 Kit 4296041 when you need both instruments and have confirmed the contents. Already have the 117? Compare the 323 alone before buying another multimeter.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Fluke 117 CAL more accurate than the standard 117?
Fluke lists 117 CAL as the 117 supplied with a traceable calibration certificate and data from Fluke. It does not publish a tighter CAL accuracy specification on that page. Choose CAL for accepted documentation of the instrument's calibration, rather than assuming a more capable meter. Its suitability still depends on the measurement and your workplace's requirements.
Does a standard Fluke 117 arrive uncalibrated?
The absence of CAL in the name does not establish that a tool is uncalibrated. Fluke says most tools receive a Statement of Calibration Practices covering factory calibration and traceability. That generic statement is not a formal certificate identifying your instrument's serial number, model and calibration date. The standard 117 contents list does not promise the CAL package's certificate with data.
Does Fluke 117 CAL include an accredited calibration certificate?
The confirmed promise for part 5160508 is a traceable certificate of calibration with data from Fluke. Its product listing does not specify ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation. Fluke distinguishes accredited service from other traceable services. If accreditation, uncertainty figures or particular test points are mandatory, have your quality team approve a sample report and the laboratory's scope before ordering.
Can the Fluke 323 in the combo kit measure DC amps?
No. Fluke specifies AC clamp current up to 400 A and AC/DC voltage up to 600 V for the 323; its DC-current specification is a dash. DC voltage capability does not imply DC clamp current. Choose a different clamp if DC jaw measurements are required, and keep that decision separate from the 117's lead-based AC/DC current function.
Should I wait for a Fluke Black Friday deal?
Choose the required package first, then compare its actual checkout terms on Black Friday, November 27, and Cyber Monday, November 30, 2026. No dated offer is verified here. Keep the same part number, condition, seller, accessories and calibration service in each comparison. A different box or missing report can make the apparent bargain unsuitable for your job.
